, a Belgian beer, served in branded glasses]] Rauchbier straight from the cask]]

'Beer' is the world's oldest and most widely consumed
alcoholic beverage and the third most popular drink overall after water and
tea. It is produced by the brewing and fermentation of starches,
mainly derived from cereal grains—the most common of which is malted barley,
although wheat, maize/corn, and rice are also widely used. Most beer is
flavoured with hops, which add bitterness and act as a natural preservative,
though other flavourings such as herbs or fruit may occasionally be included.
Alcoholic beverages distilled after fermentation or fermented from non-starch
sources such as grape juice (wine) or honey (mead) are not classified as beer.

Some of humanity's earliest known writings refer to the production and
distribution of beer: the Code of Hammurabi included laws regulating beer and
beer parlours, and "The Hymn to Ninkasi", a prayer to the
Mesopotamian goddess of beer, served as both a prayer and as a method of
remembering the recipe for beer in a culture with few literate people. Today, the brewing industry is a global
business, consisting of several dominant multinational companies and many
thousands of smaller producers ranging from brewpubs to regional breweries.

The basics of brewing beer are shared across national and cultural boundaries
and are commonly categorised into two main types—the globally popular pale
lagers and the regionally distinct ales which are further categorised into other
varieties such as pale ale, stout and brown ale. The strength of beer may range
from less than 1% abv (alcohol by volume) to over 20% abv in rare cases, though
is usually around 4% to 6% abv.

Beer forms part of the culture of various beer-drinking nations and has acquired
various social traditions and associations, such as beer festivals and a rich
pub culture involving activities such as pub crawling or pub games such as bar
billiards.

Ever Wondered What Men Talk About After Your Date? Get The Inside Scoop: What Your Boyfriend Tells His Mates About You!

You had a fabulous time. Dinner was great. The conversation was interesting and he was engaging. It was cute how nervous he was when he leaned in to kiss you goodnight and how he fumbled with his “can I call you” line. You can’t wait to tell your girlfriends all about it. And, then, you start wondering…

“Hmmm, what will *he* tell his friends about the date…about me?”

At some time or another, all women who are dating have wondered what their boyfriends *really* tell their guy friends about their dates.

With women, we cook up these romantic scenes…vignettes of best friends sharing a delicious conversation at an outside café as they sip their lattes or divulging intimate details with their closest girlfriends as they sit on a comfy couch with a glass of wine. Romanticizing about their boyfriends. Exploring every detail of their time spent together. Dissecting everything even down to specific words and what they might mean!

So, what does your boyfriend tell his friends about you? Are the treacherously testosterone-laden images we conjure up of locker rooms, poker tables, ball games, bathrooms, and bars as the places where guys tell their “war stories” amongst high fives and ahhh yeahs true? Amid the smell of cheap cigars and cheaper beer does your boyfriend exaggerate his conquests and sum up the evening not by the events or the experience but by whether or not he “got some.”

Yes! There is an element of truth there. No smoke without fire, right? But let’s take a closer look at the type of questions your friends might ask you after a date and compare them with what your boyfriend’s friends might ask him. You might be amazed to discover that in their post-date disclosures, both sexes are pretty much talking about the very same thing…however, they’re using very different terminology. And, it’s this terminology that has caused the stereotypical images to linger long past their prime.

What Your Friends Ask

What does he do for a living?

Did he pay?

Did he kiss you goodnight?

Do you think he’ll call?

Was he cute?

Did you have sex?

Will you sleep with him next time?

What Your Boyfriend's Friend’s Ask

Was she crazy like the last one?

What did the meal cost?

Did you get all mushy?

Are you going to call her?

Was she hot?

Did you have sex?

Think you’ll get some next time?

Wait a minute! If you’re thinking that both sexes are saying the same thing just differently, then you’re on to something!

In fact, you’re right. Culturally, men often have a different language than women do to ask their questions. And, as you can see, Mars and Venus might still be kind of far apart, but the fact is, friends are friends and they can only utilize the tools they know to show their interest in their friendships.

Yes, there is some truth to the boastful stories some guys tell their friends about their dates, but of one thing you can be certain; when a man finds a woman he likes, it doesn’t matter how much his mates prod and ply him for juicy details about the date because this is the one time he will just shrug them off!

Yes, guys may love to boast about their conquests and more often than not the ones who boast the loudest are the ones getting the least so they have to make up stories to impress their friends with!

But, when you charm a guy, spend an evening filled with intimate conversation, when together you ignite your passions for life, when you share your deepest dreams and expectations there is no way he’ll want to share you with his friends. Yes, the guy who is charmed will definitely shrug his friends off when they try to pry for details…

”How do I charm a guy like that?” I hear you asking and I am glad you did, because every secret to charming and attracting men can be found in my newly released eBook, “How to Attract Men—The Goddess Secrets”. In fact it is jam packed with details on how to get a boyfriend, find a husband and meet attractive available men.

Why Drinking While Out With Children Is A Bad Decision

It should be illegal to serve alcohol to people that have minors with them while out in public. Too often, while I was working as a food server in a large restaurant, I would have customers that would come in for dinner with their children, and drink it up, not taking into consideration the example that was being shown to their little observers. Let's use for an example - a mom, a dad, a 9 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. (This is an example only). The mom has 3 glasses of wine, (6oz X 3 = 18oz) and the dad has 4 beers. (14oz X 4 = 66oz). So using the American Government Guidelines, a standard serving of alcohol is 12oz beer and 5oz wine....enough said there.

And what about setting a good example? The message being sent to the children is that drinking & driving is Okay. And most likely, they will grow up following what they learned from their parents.

Even though I have served alcohol for a living, and write for a cocktail website, I believe in zero tolerance for drinking and driving. Getting drunk, and then operating a vehicle is selfish, stupid, and inexcusable. In May of 2007, I was hit by a drunk driver - my car was totaled, my daughter, sister, friend and I all went to the hospital with injuries, my teenage daughter hurt the worst. I can proudly say I have never driven drunk in my life. There should always be a designated driver. If not, then don't drink. It is not a necessity, it is a choice and a privilege. Next time you are debating if it is a good idea to chance it, (obviously you have no regards for yourself), at least try to think of the innocent- imagine that 5 year old child that is helpless in the backseat of a car, that you may take the life of, all because of a bad decision. Plan and Think ahead. Stay alive, and keep others safe as well.

For Proof of how crucial drunk driving is , take a look at the statistics: Below is the total Alcohol Related Traffic Fatalities in 2005 for all 50 states:

Remember, Children are helpless to us. They are unable to drive home themselves, so they are stuck in a car, completely defenseless to the intoxicated adult that has those small lives entrusted into their irresponsible care.

When children are entered to the mix, being a role model is crucial to their development. They should come first, putting all selfishness aside. Pounding down booze, then driving your family home, (that you say you love) is highly selfish...

Make a difference in a child's life. Be their hero.
